Chibi Maruko-chan is a Girls' comic. It was published in August 1986. As of 2006, the collected volumes of the comic had sold more than 31 million copies in Japan, it the fifth best-selling Girls' comic.
The author is born in Shizuoka. That's why there has the only museum of Chibi Maruko-chan in Japan here.

Chibi Maruko-chan series depicts the interesting everyday life of Momoko Sakura, who is a troublemaker.
Every episode recounts Maruko and her friends get trouble and how to succeed in solving the situation.
And many stories are inspired by incidents from the author's own life, and some characters are based on her family and friends.
