Katsuo-ji Temple, originally named "Shengwang Temple", became popular because "king" and "tail" are homophones in Japanese. Many people come here to pray for "victory" luck. It is also an ideal place to enjoy the maple leaves. The temple has a history of 1,300 years and has been visited by dignitaries from all dynasties, including the Minamoto clan and the Ashikaga clan. Even today, people from all over the world come here to pray for success in health, career, exams, sports and love. The many "Katsu Daruma" (victory daruma) placed on the offering stand are placed by believers when they return to express their gratitude after achieving their goals.
