What to Expect

Marine World Umi-no-nakamichi, located in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, opened in 1989 with the concept of being "an aquarium that adults can enjoy as well."

This aquarium exhibits approximately 350 species and 30,000 marine creatures.

It features a beautiful exterior reminiscent of a white shell.

It has four floors above ground, a site area of ​​48,000㎡, and a total floor space of 21,400㎡. It is one of the top five aquariums in Japan.

One of the most popular attractions at Marine World Umi-no-Nakamichi is the performance show featuring dolphins and sea lions.

A wide variety of dolphins, including Pacific white-sided dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and short-finned pilot whales, appear here and perform in perfect harmony with their trainers.

The dolphins are particularly impressive when they jump across the pool or when the trainers perform tricks while riding on the dolphins' backs.

In addition, at the end of the show, there is a unique element where the dolphins throw a ball towards the audience with their tails, making the audience feel even closer to the dolphins.
