What to Expect
Toba Aquarium is a huge aquarium with the largest number of species in Japan, where you can encounter many living creatures.
The museum is divided into 12 zones, vividly recreating underwater environments from all over the world, including Japan's oceans and rivers.
There are many rare creatures on display, including the adorable sea otters, the ancient nautilus, and the dugong, said to be the model for mermaid legends, and the African manatee, both of which are kept and exhibited here - the only place in the world where these two species are kept and exhibited at the same time.
There is no set route, so you can explore freely and follow your curiosity.
Sea lion and walrus shows are held every day!
