Further on from the summit station of Mt. Usu, beyond the Crater Base Observatory, is the Usu Outer Rim Promenade, which is about 1.1 km one way and a 40-50 minute walk, that leads to the Usu Outer Rim Observatory.
At the Usu outer rim observation deck, you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the crater, Lake Toya, Mt. Yotei, and the Pacific Ocean.
It also connects to a hiking trail that descends to Usu Town in Date City, making it a popular trekking course.
